When it comes to real-time data, seeing is believing

Real-time information is critical to data-intensive industries like aerospace and defense. That’s why we’ve
created Sammi, an application-development suite that allows you to custom build powerful graphics that display and manage massive volumes of streaming data. No other graphics product can match Sammi’s sophistication and speed. That’s why more than 250 companies worldwide -- including 9 of the world’s 10 largest aerospace companies – use it to provide their command and control workers with dynamic and accurate real-time graphic.

Enable everyone in your enterprise to
dramatically visualize their
mission-critical data in real time.
Create and share highly sophisticated
graphic displays, and customize
them for your specific needs.
Design powerful graphics using our
Format Editor – a complete
graphics-design tool created for both
non-programmers and experienced
developers alike.
Use a simple “drag and drop”
procedure to choose from over 40
pre-built dynamic display objects
such as meters, gauges, graphs,
scales, menus and buttons. Or
create custom drawings with
graphical primitives.
Save time with format-independent
design components that do not
require re-compiling or re-linking to
be modified: simply open the display
file, specify the changes through
simple dialogs, and then save the
display.
Manipulate displays quickly and
easily without affecting the
underlying application.
Cross platform development
environment: Share graphics across
a variety of mixed platforms,
including Windows, Unix and Linux.
Share synchronized data-driven
graphics without interrupting your
network’s functionality.
View live graphical displays that are
updated in real time by our Runtime
Environment – a feature that
manages all commands, events and
data between users and the graphics
created in the Format Editor, as well
as all peer-to-peer or client/server
applications.
Speed up data-visualization tasks
with a multi-process architecture that
does not require you to wait for other
processing to finish.
Automatically manage data across
your network through Sammi’s
Application Programming Interface,
which handles all network
connectivity and communications
between the graphic interface and
the underlying application, including
the full range of data transmission
and conversion tasks.
Implement graphics quickly without
writing any network or
graphical-user-interface code.
Improve your command and control
systems with the most sophisticated
and accurate real-time graphics
available.
Bypass the time consuming and
expensive “programming” phase of
data visualization.
Make faster, better decisions with
customized graphic dashboards that
take the guesswork out of
interpreting your data.
Lower your cost of ownership –
Sammi is rapidly and easily
integrated with your existing systems
and data sources.
Bring dramatic new graphics to any
data-driven task, from visualizing an
entire mission-control system to
animating a simple data source.

Additional Format Editor Features
Drag and Drop Display Editing - The Format Editor is designed with a simple interface that requires no programming
skill to use. Standard drawing tools are supplied to enable you to draw static vector objects and text that can easily be
re-sized without distortion. Pre-built dynamic display objects (DDOs) can be dragged from the DDO palette and dropped
onto the format canvas. Using easy to follow dialogs, specify the DDO display properties (how it will look) and data
properties (where the data is coming from) and you're done! You can even customize grouped static objects and DDOs
with the display properties you like and save them in a library to be used later without having to re-create them from
scratch.

Over 40 Pre-built Dynamic Display Objects - Sammi offers great versatility with an offering of over 40 pre-built DDOs.
DDOs are grouped into 4 different types: character, control, interpretive and scale. Character DDOs include dynamic
display of text and numbers. Control DDOs include objects you can select to send commands, such as buttons or menus.
Interpretive DDOs include symbols that change dynamically depending on the data provided, such as a switch appearing
on or off. Scale DDOs include graphical representations of data, such as meters, charts and graphs. You can even create
dynamic objects out of static objects by specifying a color change and/or movement, depending on the data received.
Import Bitmap and DXF Drawings - The standard Format Editor formats works with background images in GIF, XBM or
XWD format. An add-on utility to the Format Editor is a DXF file converter that will convert DXF (AutoCAD format) files to
use as a background image. DXF files are imported as vector images that can then be transformed into DDOs that display
changes to the schematic based on incoming data.

No Graphics Code to Maintain -
All the work has been done for you, so simple changes in dynamic object display or
data property dialogs is all it takes to modify a format. Make your changes, re-save the format, and you're done!
Rapid Display Building - Since the Sammi Format Editor requires no programming and no compiling of graphics code,
display building is very quick and easy. If you want to change colors or the position of a DDO, simply opening the format in
the Format Editor, changing the display or data options, and re-saving the format is all it takes. Display building can
literally take minutes, or even seconds, compared to the hours prototyping can take when programming code or compiling
graphics code!

Import 3rd Party Widgets -
Custom 3rd party widgets can be imported into formats. The importing capability provides a
flexibility not offered by every other COTS application.

Alarm Subsystem -
Custom alarms can be set that display messages, blink, make sounds, or a combination of any or all
of these. Alarms can be active or passive, display certain events, or be customized to suit the user's particular needs.
